The Nikon F revolutionized the field of 35mm SLR cameras. This is a rugged and reliable manual, mechanical camera. Early body serial numbers often started with the two-digit year and this body was likely manufactured in 1969, when the F had already been in production for a decade, but the FTN finder was still relatively new. We've paired this body with a 50mm f/1.4 lens.
This Nikon F has the interchangeable FTN Photomic Finder. The finder needs 625A alkaline batteries (not included) in order to meter, but the camera does not need them in order to work; it is a manual, mechanical camera. Built-in light metering capability in this era was very rudimentary, and Film Supply Club recommends a handheld meter for best results. The finder has a pin which couples with the flange on the lens in front; be careful not to damage it and do consult a manual when dismounting or mounting a lens. This pin mechanism is how the aperture information is conveyed.
We photograph every individual camera that we sell. You will receive the camera in the photos. Please inspect photos for best information about cosmetic condition.
