The Canonet QL17 Giii is a prime fixed lens rangefinder with shutter-speed priority electronic exposure.  It is also possible to use the camera in manual exposure (both the aperture and shutter speed dials are located on rings around the lens).  The film speed can be set from ISO 35 to 800.

This family of cameras also included the Canonet 28 and versions without the "QL" -- QL stands for "quick load" and Giii stood for "3rd generation, grade up."  This was the most advanced model in the series and is seen as the most desirable. More than a million units of this camera were sold from the 1970s to the early 1980s.

The Canonet cameras are sometimes known as the "poor man's Leica," and they take excellent, sharp photos at a fraction of the price.  As an added bonus, their bodies are smaller than M-bodies, too -- this is a very lightweight camera and makes an excellent travel camera.  If you really want to bug your Leica friends, point out to them that this f/1.7 lens is brighter than a Summicron.

We photograph every individual camera that we sell.  You will receive the camera in the photos.
