The Nikon F revolutionized the field of 35mm SLR cameras. This is a rugged and reliable manual, mechanical camera. Early body serial numbers often started with the two-digit year and this body was likely manufactured in 1970, when the F had already been in production for over a decade. We've paired this body with a 50mm f/1.4 lens.
This Nikon F has the interchangeable FTN Photomic Finder. The finder needs 625A alkaline batteries (not included) in order to meter, but the camera does not need them in order to work; it is a manual, mechanical camera. Built-in light metering capability in this era was very rudimentary, and Film Supply Club recommends a handheld meter for best results. The finder has a pin which couples with the flange on the lens in front; be careful not to damage it and do consult a manual when dismounting or mounting a lens. This pin mechanism is how the aperture information is conveyed.
