The FT3 is a manual, mechanical-shutter Nikon 35mm SLR made in the late 1970s. This camera is paired with a 50mm kit lens.
This camera has a few design choices that are different from many other 35mm SLRs. You set the ISO/ASA with a ring around the base of the lens mount, and the shutter speeds are also placed around the base of the lens mount. Instead of pulling up on the rewind crank to open the back of the camera, you pull down on the silver tab that emerges at the bottom of the lefthand side of the camera as you hold it. Remember to turn the film advance lever out by 20 degrees to activate the meter!
This was the first Nikkormat to use AI lenses. If you already have non-AI lenses, you can still use them with this camera, but you will need to use stop-down metering.
