Olympus OM-1 with 50mm f/1.4 lens and leather case (film tested)
Film tested! The OM-1 is an all-mechanical SLR introduced in 1972. It has a large viewfinder with interchangeable screens and a fixed prism. It also has a through-the-lens exposure meter controlling a needle visible in the viewfinder. The camera body is lighter and more compact than competing 35mm SLRs that existed in the market at the time it was introduced, and this camera is a popular option for those who want a slightly lighter and smaller kit while retaining full control of their settings. Note the innovative design that places the shutter speed on a ring at the back of the lens mount and the aperture on the ring at the front of the lens. This makes for elegant and economical ease of movement while using the camera; you don't have to lower it in front of your face to access any dials on the top plate.
This body is paired with a 50mm f/1.4 lens for an extra stop of light (beyond the standard 1.8).
Please note that when you are rewinding your film, you have to turn the rewind dial on the front face of the camera. It is a simple step that is easy to miss when trying to rewind your first roll on this camera.
