CLA'd summer 2024.
The OM-1 is an all-mechanical SLR from the 1970s. The camera body is lighter and more compact than competing 35mm SLRs that existed in the market at the time it was introduced, and this camera is a popular option for those who want a slightly lighter and smaller kit while retaining full control of their settings. Note the design that places the shutter speed on a ring at the back of the lens mount and the aperture on the ring at the front of the lens. While it takes some getting used to if you are used to top-located dials, once you are accustomed to it, it can speed up your operation because you do not have to lower the camera from in front of your face to make adjustments.
Please note that when you are rewinding your film, you have to turn the rewind dial on the front face of the camera. It is a simple step that is easy to miss when trying to rewind your first roll on this camera.
