This was the world’s first AF SLR camera which incorporated the concept of silent operation. Also known as the EOS 100 and EOS 100 QD.
Like other plastic-bodied SLRs of its type, its plastic construction belies its capabilities. This camera offers Manual, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, and Program modes of shooting, plus auto/portrait/landscape/sport presets.

This camera comes with both a short and a long zoom. Lenses can be switched from autofocus to manual and back again. The included Tamrac bag was very popular in its day because it was so durable. Photographers still look for these bags.
At time of release, "The newly-developed silent mechanisms reduced film advance noise and rewind noise by one-eighth to one-half the level of previous models. The built-in flash’s coverage adjusts automatically (auto zoom) to suit the lens focal length. Red-eye reduction, second-curtain sync, and flash exposure compensation were other flash features. The Quick Control Dial on the camera back also enables real-time exposure compensation adjustment while you looked through the viewfinder. It was a feature-laden, mid-class multi-mode 35mm AF SLR. The USM lens was a new term that stood for "Ultra Sonic Motor."" See Canon's legacy listing on their online camera museum for more information.
Don't forget your battery! This camera takes one 2CR5 battery.
