This Canon EOS-3 is a modern workhorse from the extremely underrated era of 35mm SLRs with plastic construction. This was a high-end camera at the time of its introduction, aimed at advanced amateurs and professionals.
These cameras provide the same manual settings and total control of earlier, mechanical SLRs in combination with far more sophisticated metering and autoexposure modes, not to mention autofocus, which itself had multiple modes in this era and in this specific camera, which has the unusual "eye controlled focus" option that Canon piloted. And then there is the exposure compensation, continuous shooting modes (bracketing), and more!
This camera also has the TTL flash compatibility which was standard by this era (must be paired with an appropriate flash).
The 40mm EF 2.8 pancake lens on this body adds up to an advantageously lightweight system. This camera does take a 2CR5 battery which adds weight compared to the empty camera; the battery installs through the grip.
This camera is recent enough technology that the manual is still available for download on Canon's website as of this listing!
